The EPDS uses proprietary filters to remove the unwanted noise and RFI without causing a "bottleneck" to the flow of AC current to your power-hungry equipment.
Unwanted AC line noise occurs in two forms: common-mode and differential mode. Common-mode noise appears simultaneously on both the line and neutral conductors with respect to ground. RFI from radio stations, for example, is a form of common-mode noise. Differential mode noise occurs between the line and neutral AC conductors and is in series (that is, rides on top of) the desired 50/60 Hz waveform. Computer power supplies, monitors, printers, and lighting dimmers are typical examples of the kind of appliances that can introduce DM noise into your household wiring.
How Does It Sound?
Eliminating the noise and RFI from your AC line means that your equipment will not have to amplify and process RFI along with the audio and video signals. The resulting lower system noise floor will allow
more low-level subtleties like room reverb and precise imaging to come through. Midrange clarity is improved when the audio amplifiers don't intermodulate with RFI, and the digital circuitry will tend to sound less "jittery" . Using an EPDS to provide your system with clean, filtered AC power will allow you to fully experience and enjoy all the promised performance from your system.
The EPDS Solution
The EPDS uses low-loss 3d order (18 dB per octave) bidirectional AC line filters to reject both common-mode and differential mode AC noise and RFI from the AC outlets feeding your sensitive audio/video equipment. The noise reduction capability of the EPDS extends to much lower frequencies than competing AC filters.

1 Each duplex receptacle (output group) has a separate filter to isolate the output groups from one another. There are a total of 4 Output groups (3 on the EPDS-V). For maximum isolation, plug different types of equipment into a separate group. Front end equipment into one group, and power amps into another, for example.
