The TViX HD 4130 can play back H.264 and high definition video (1920 x 1080p), DVD, digital images, and music files from either the internal Hard Disk Drive (HDD) or across the home of office network. The device also enables a user to schedule and read HD TV files which the user can playback anytime. CEO of Lako Pacific, Evan Kourambas said, "Dvico have set themselves as global leaders by future-proofing its TViX range with the latest consumer technologies such as H.264 support, HD playback and HDMI output. It is difficult to categorise what the TViX 4130 really is, given its capabilities extend further than just being a PVR or hard disk multimedia player." The TViX 4130's support for H.264 compressed digital videos allows a user to view Internet videos and movie trailers, digital TV broadcast, IPTV transmission, and even HD movies on the unit. Founded in New Zealand in the 1980s, PLINIUS immediately earned respect in the local market and evolved to earn the respect of music connoisseurs the world over. In subsequent years, incremental gains and purposeful development have seen new standards set and the release of a CD player that matches the amplifier range in both build and audio quality. Today, with a presence and a passionate following across 35 countries around the world, PLINIUS has established a global reputation based on amplification of outstanding quality that represents the very pinnacle of technology's ability to communicate the heart of music. The period from 1980 to 1987 saw PLINIUS launch and refine its trademark Preamplifiers and Power Amplifiers, ranging in power from 50 to 200W. Solidly built, the boards are littered with audiophile grade components, and whilst I remain to be convinced of the necessity of this, the brands chosen show a willingness to investigate rather than simply follow the crowd. Internal signal wiring is all Siltech, and for users who choose to employ a high quality external phono stage (such as the PLINIUS M14) the phono input can be upgraded with even better wire and a shorter signal path, a £150 option that wasn't fitted to the review unit. You get a ground switch like the one on the power-amp, and a dinky little standby button which needs to be pressed to enable the unit after switch-on. Round the front you'll find switching for the six inputs (including the two tape loops), tape monitoring, balance and volume control. The two toggle switches are for mute and absolute phase. The remote control is particularly nice; not too heavy, with large, clearly labelled buttons. NAD 3225 Power Envelope SOLD!! For budget equipment, Nad is my first chioce in amplifiction if I am consulted by friends and family members. I have bought many amps for them and never had any problems whatsoever. They are very versatile when it comes to matching with budget speakers. Agreed that they are not the last word in tranparency or detail but if anyone is looking for those attributes they have to spend a lot more than the price at which Nads are available. I am familiar with what Nads capabilities are since I first heard the 3020 back in early 80's. I personally also own the Nad 3225 PE. Some may say that their amps are a bit dark sounding, recessed in mids or slightly grainy, but, no one can accuse Nads for sounding harsh, which is what most budget equipment suffer from in terms of sound quality. McIntosh 275 Tube Amplifier trade in SOLD History: An object of desire cherished by music lovers around the world, the MC275 is hard to beat. Their legendary Unity Coupled Output Transformer uses two bifilar wound primaries - one for the plates, as is normal, and a second for the cathodes. Instead of drawing all the output power from the plates, as many other designs do, the Unity Coupled design draws from both the plates and the cathodes. This greatly reduces the output distortion - always a problem in tube designs. By mixing the secondary windings in amongst the primaries, coupling is improved -flattening the output frequency response and improving the power bandwidth. The MC275 Vacuum Tube Amplifier was designed and engineered by McIntosh co-founder Sidney Corderman and the McIntosh Engineering Team. The MC275 uses balanced or single ended inputs and a compliment of (3) 12AX7A, (4) 12AT7 and either (4) KT-88s or 6550 tubes. Secondly the mass of the puck is lost completely giving the mechanism itself less stress and better acceleration and braking performance.
