An Introduction to Sherbourn Technologies
Sherbourn is a young and dynamic company headquartered close to Boston, Massachusetts. We enjoy an illustrious and deep-seated pedigree having been started in 1998 by two industry veterans whose synergistic engineering and marketing skills were developed and enriched by working with or for such famous companies as Acoustic Research™, NAD™, Proton™, A/D/S™ and McIntosh™.
From inception, our company's core philosophy has been to design and manufacture affordable products with high levels of innovation, performance, build quality and reliability. While maintaining this philosophy, our company's product line has expanded from its original and highly innovative 1.5 Kw, 5 mono block, home theater amplifier with its 5 toroidal transformers, to a product list that now includes 2, 5, 7, 12 and 16 channel amplifiers along with a terrific 2-zone 7.1 pre/pro/tuner.

7.1 CHANNEL, TWO ZONE PRE-PROCESSOR/TUNER
The PT-7000 is another example of Sherbourn s innovative technology being applied to a high quality, high performing product while maintaining an incredibly competitive price.
With the PT-7000 you can enjoy not only the latest 7.1 movies but all other movies too because it includes processing for Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Surround EX, Dolby Pro Logic 2 and DTS-ES. Also included is Cirrus Logic Extra Surround as well as Stereo Surround Enhancement with five and seven channel party modes. The rear panel includes multiple audio inputs/outputs plus video inputs/outputs for Component, S-Video and RCA connections. There is a second zone output so that others can enjoy music in separate rooms in the house while other family members are watching a movie.
In a quest for a high quality performance top quality 24-bit 192 Hz DACs and 24-bit 96 kHz ADCs from the renowned Crystal Corporation are used along with low leakage capacitors. The main, video and processing boards are all specially calibrated. The 55mHz video bandwidth works beautifully with progressive-scan DVDs and HDTV. Included is a top quality AM/FM tuner with multiple pre-sets. Remote control functions are discrete and it handles all of the on-screen graphics and selectable functions.

Sherbourn 7/2100A 7-channel Amplifier
7-CHANNEL HOME THEATRE AMPLIFIER
The all-new 7/2100A includes 7 mono blocks, 7 toroidal transformers, 7 heat-sinks, 56 bi-polar/mosfet transistors, and over 140,000 micro-farad capacitance, delivering awesome levels of clean, accurate power - all in a newly redesign case.
The 7/2100A reveals a sophisticated blend of stunning design and unmatched performance. The 7/2100A weighs an astounding 115 pounds and features the world s first seven mono block, seven toroidal transformer amplifier. This brute will output a massive 2.1 kW and comes with two power cords to ensure that you can pull all of the needed power from two outlets, which eliminates the need to install a special 20-amp circuit. Sherbourn uses only the finest components, including fifty-six bi-polar Mosfet transistors and has an over 150,000 microfarad capacitance. The rear panel includes XLR and RCA inputs, gold plated five-way binding posts and a low voltage trigger input. Unique to Sherbourn is our LDS, (Load Detection System) that allows the amp to sample the signal before powering up and will detect if the load is within safe parameters.

Sherbourn Technology's New Load Detection System (LDS)
LDS is a patent-pending circuit from Sherbourn Technologies designed for use with multi-channel power amplifiers. This innovative circuit will allow installers to speedily check the correctness of their speaker connections without needing an ohm meter or a walk-through.
Today's installations could have up to eight zones from a single amplifier - requiring thirty-two speaker connections! It is expensive and time consuming to check the correctness of those connections. Of course, in a worst-case scenario, two speaker leads could mistakenly be cross-connected, causing two amplifier channels to drive against themselves. If the unit's built-in protection circuit is not active, then the amplifier may fail, causing aggravation and cost.
The LDS circuit will initially be included on Sherbourn's new 16/800 sixteen channel amplifier. With the 16/800 connected to the power supply, the LDS circuit will send a low-voltage probing signal to check the first zone's connections. A manually-operated rotary switch housed on the rear panel will allow the other zones to be sequentially tested, with an LED indicating their status: green for normal, yellow for open circuit (no coonection), or red for short circuit. Once all zones have been tested, the LDS switch is placed in its 'off' position and the amplifier is then ready to play program material.

The 7/1250A is a generation-two version of the orignal 7/2100A amplifier that addresses a market segment that wants the capability of a seven channel amplifier but does not necessarily need the excess power and heft that a 7 transformer model offers.
“We are continually looking for better and more cost effective ways to meet the needs of our customers. Although our 7/2100A has been universally acclaimed, there is a segment that doesn't need all of the 2100 watts that this mega amp delivers.” said Ron Fone, President of Sherbourn.
One thing is certain, housed in an identical chassis as the 7/2100A the 7/1250A uses similar technical circuitry as its big brother. “We are proud of the reputation we have built that acknowledges the unique capabilities of each of our amps, say Fone. “With the 7/1250A we have utilized all of the unique design features of the 7/2100A but in place of the 7 individual toroidal tranformers we have employed two huge toroidal tranformers that deliver a robust 125 watts of ultra-clean power.” Unlike many others, Sherbourn rates its amplifiers @ 4/8 ohms repectively with ALL channels driven.
“The marketplace has seen a substantial shift to one box solutions for home theater applications. We strongly believe that individual components still offer the consumer the best perfomance opportunity. Receivers are an “easier” solution in that they offer all the functions in a single chassis but, to accomplish this, most manufacturers make compromises that limit the perfomance capability,” said Mr. Fone. “Sherbourn's approach is to always consider performance first and the 7/1250A is yet another example of our comittment to delivering the best, most dynamic sound to our loyal customers.”
