Testimonial from Screen Goo Canada
Australian Goo Dealer, Livingstone Audio, Lights Up The Australian Museum!
Livingstone Audio, of Blackburn South, Australia, one of our first (and still one of our best!) Screen Goo dealers, recently completed a unique project at The Australian Museum in beautiful Sydney, Australia. The Museum's new Dinosaurs Exhibit features a former exterior wall which has been converted into dinosaur-sized sized, 12m x 6m video projection screen, created with an application of Screen Goo Reference White coatings.
While the dinosaurs themselves are of course the main attraction, the video projected on the new screen contributes greatly to creating an environment and context which deepens visitors' appreciation for these awe-inspiring prehistoric creatures.
Rumours of after-hour screenings of “Jurassic Park” remain unconfirmed!
Congratulations and a hearty “thanks mate!” to Alex Leong of Livingstone Audio for a unique job, beautifully done. Please keep up the excellent work.
Thank You and Kind Regards,

Screen Goo for Outdoor application:
Screen Goo for Outdoor application:
Quote from Kevin is as follows:
Provided that the wall is sealed with some sort of latex primer/sealer prior to applying Screen Goo, it will work just fine. The surface needs to be protected from the elements for about 48 hours after application.
After that, you can expect it to last appreciably better than any of the premium latex exterior house paints available. In the event that a recoat is required during the lifetime of the project, a single coat of topcoat will be sufficient to restore the "screen" to an as new condition.

I have been in the painting industry for over a decade running a successful business called Beautiful Colours and I am very proud to be associated with Screen Goo System.
This is a paint which can be applied to a flat surface giving brilliant picture quality and is superior to traditional projector screens. I have used Screen Goo in several applications and have found it to be easy to apply using traditional techniques, versatile and gives a fantastic finish which complements its environment.

AFL Development Manager Oakleigh Region Victoria Australia
Hi Alex,
Yes very happy to pass this onto to all our Auskick centre coordinators.
The utility radio/microphone is an excellent light portable everyday use machine. We use it in the office everyday for a few tunes or sports update. For our Auskick super clinics, U.14 camps where we have 200 kids running around, it's great to carry the light utility radio/microphone around with us.
Like Martin Giles (Auskick coordinator in central east region) said when he referred it to me, it is the necessary tool for Auskick coordinators to communicate to lots of kids and parents at Auskick.
To all coordinators this little machine is a beauty, if anyone wants to check ours out in the office you are more then welcome. Website address below has picture of it also.
So when Alex asked if I would forward on a recommendation to all centres I was more then happy to,
Cheers to all, hopefully you wont get too wet tomorrow, the kids will love it still.

Testimonials by John Wilson - Eichmann Power System
Hi Alex,
Just wanted to say that the Eichmann power system is really good, because It has improved the performance of my home theatre system, even though it is a basic system it has improved the clarity of the sound. Further I have saved me time charging my mobile phone, because it takes about 6hrs but this has been halved. I also run my pc through the power system my monitor is brighter by about 5% even my digital clock is brighter than before.

Testimonial from Shen of Plessis Model A
Alex good morning..
I really have to commend you on your amplifier. It is now at 223 hours and it truly sounds fantastic. I managed to do an AB comparison with the kav 400. Not only did it resolve much more detail, it was much more musical in the process. Surprisingly, your amp did not want for bass in comparison - your bass was less controlled than the solid stateamp as expected, but it was not dramatically so. Also surprising was the power of transients where your amp was almost the equal of the much higher rated krell.
Your amp was so much better than the krell that it made a mockery of the fawning review that stereophile gave the krell [class a no less].
Thanks for giving me an amp that has given me so much musical enjoyment.

Testimonial from Barry . Melbourne Australia
"Greetings Alex"
Its strange the way things happen in life, I have wanted a better than normal bedside radio for years and none had the specs I wanted.
1. Pres button presets with digital display, (press button with no fussing withdials or am/fm)
2. Good quality sound.
3. Ease of operation.
I looked at the Kloss, the sound was good but mucking around with dials, I got the specs on the Sangean but suspect the sound quality, I went to Livingstone Audio to see what the Boston Acoustics Receptor was like, It met all my needs (clock, digital display and sound quality), BUT beside it was the Microsystem CD which I thought I would check out, the fuller richer sound won me over very quickly and it plays CD's even my computer backup MP3's (A real bonus).
The service and commitment Mr Alex Leong gave me won me over and the radio is great.
Ps I looked into the digital radio's and decided I dont have enough time or commitment to become that pedantic.

Dared Valve Amp MP 5 testimonial from client....
I hope my story doesn't upset too many people:
I decided to buy a DARED MP5 valve amp, to use as a headphone amp, and asked the Australian distributor to make some alterations (change two resistors from 150 ohm to 51 ohm) to better suit my Sennheiser HD650.
These changes were made and the unit was ready during the Home Show in Melbourne, so I contacted the retailer (Livingstone Audio) to collect from the Home Show.
When I get there, I find out that there is a discount for a 'show special'. That was the first bit of good news. Then went across the road to Crown Casino to have a couple of drinks and celebrate the unexpected windfall.
The next week my headphones developed a fault in the left channel, but still under warranty. However when I contacted Syntec (Australian Sennheiser agent), they said that I bought them from an unauthorised retailer (I got them from ebay, new in box), they would not cover warranty and I would have to pay for repairs. I contacted the ebay seller whom was very helpful and said he would send them back to the UK to get fixed under warranty (this would cost him $50 postage). I said: "Just give me the $50 and I will pay the rest to get fixed in Australia", partly figuring that I was still ahead with the amp discount (repair estimate of $141). Anyway, he gave me the $50, I sent them to Syntec (postage $13) and they fixed them under warranty - no charge! Double bonus.
But wait, there's more!
When I was at Crown Casino (after the Home Show), I bought a Crown lager, and was given a raffle ticket as part of a promotion. Last week, Crown rang and said I had won second prize - $20,000 cash.
Needless to say, I am very happy with my amp purchase - it has been very good to me!

I am so happy with the new Vincent amp and Aurora 3 speakers.
Thanks Alex received the cables......
I am so happy with the new Vincent amp and Aurora 3 speakers. I cannot
believe how good the system now sounds (with the Vincent CD player).
The clarity is beautiful - particularly when listening to acoustic
music. When I turn it up to listen to some prog rock it really kicks in
and gives a quality of sound that I have not experienced before. I
would have expected to have paid 3 times the price to get the quality
that this equipment delivers. The most startling thing for me is the
quality of the sound at very low volume levels - you can still hear all
of the frequencies in an excellent way. Thanks so much for your
patience, excellent after hours service that allowed me to audition the
equipment when I could get to Melbourne after work from central Vic. I
am one very happy customer. Cheers Mathew

Screen Goo testimonial ...."DTV Forum Australia"
I made my own screen using 6mm MDF & a border of MDF small (45mm) skirting strips sprayed matt black. Finished screen size is 92" diagonal.
I used CRT white screen goo and am VERY happy. There is also Digital Grey & Digital Light Grey colours as well.
I got my paint from a place in Blackburn. They had a CRT White goo screen and a Digital Grey screen set up. See http://www.livingstoneaudio.com.au
I took my projector along and demo's both the CRT whit & Grey. I felt the CRT provided a "punchier" picture....the grey screens are supposed to provide better "blacks" but I didn't really notice too much difference in that department.
I've got a bit of experience painting with rollers so for me the job wasn't too hard. Have a look at that video from the official Goo site and see how you feel.
The goo is a great product. Before that I was using the screen painted with 2 coates fo Dulux Acrylic white primer....I thought it was great before I put the goo on.......the goo made a BIG difference.
Good Luck.

Testimonial from client : Brett Irvine with Orpheus CS 28.4 Loudspeaker
Alex,
Once again I cannot thank you enough for the promptness and attention to detail you have displayed in repairing my Orpheus speaker drivers.
Whilst I realize that Christmas week is indeed probably one of the worst times of the year to provide a repair service, the fact that not only were you able to source the drivers but also find the several hours it would have taken to install said drivers is simply amazing.
The fact that you listen to your customers needs, ask relevant questions and suggest effective solutions, whether you sell that particular product or not, is in my opinion one of your most valuable assets. The amount and depth of your technical and installation experience, both with products and custom installs continues to astound me.
Having dealt with you for several years now I could not recommend you highly enough to any potential customer.
Thank you!

Testimonial from client Heatmont Melbourne Australia: Roger
Hi Alex,
I want to thank you for the excellent service that I received from yourself
on my recent purchase of the Velodyne SPL-1500R in cherry.
I had 'auditioned' a number of brands including 'highly recommended' brands
such as Whatmough-Whise's Impulse and Impact models.
At reference levels I had these clipping, crackling and distorting badly,
they were dropped from the list.
The Velodyne SPL-1500R had no such issues, was rock solid at similar and
louder levels, it was purchased.
Despite supply issues from the US with the cherry unit (wife acceptance
factor), you negotiated the loan of a black unit with the local importer W C
Wedderspoon until the correct one arrived.
You also arranged the sale by consignment on commission of my old receiver
and subwoofer.
I would happily recommend your company.

Cheat's guide to home cinema
Author: David Wilson
Date: May 2, 2006
Publication: Sydney Morning Herald
If the sky's not the limit, there are still plenty of ways to create a home theatre on a budget, David Wilson writes.
At the cinema, sometimes others do their best to upstage the action. You may find you have to contend with the smooching couple in front, the kid behind kicking your chair back or the munchers, chatterers and commentators in the darkness several rows behind.
The solution seems to be to boycott the whole experience and set up your own home theatre. To do that, you do not necessarily need the wealth of Bill Gates. You just need to shop around and maybe make the most of any spare everyday hardware you already have.
Create a first-class theatre and you might decide that staying in is the new going out.
What you need
If you already have a TV, a DVD, an amplifier and front speakers, essentially all you need are the centre and rear speakers, assuming that your amplifier can drive all the necessary visual and audio components. If not, you'll need to upgrade. If it is compatible, says Len Wallis, managing director of Len Wallis Audio (02 9427 6755), the process is dead simple.
The most important thing is not to skimp on the centre channel, the most important speaker in a theatre system. Second, it is essential that the centre speaker matches as closely as possible the two existing front speakers.
A simple solution is to find a dealer with the brand of speakers you already have and select the appropriate centre from that range. The rears will then fall into place.
What kind of screen?
Your old-style tellie with the bulky back is cheap and gives a sharp picture, but lacks glamour. Think instead about a sleek plasma or LCD television, providing sharp picture quality and nice, slimline proportions.
A 106-centimetre high-definition plasma will set you back about $4000 (the low-definition models come cheaper), compared with about $5000 for the same size in an LCD.
You may want to opt for a ceiling-mounted projector that gives a picture of six metres or more. The downside is it will cost at least $3000 and require a screen costing at least $600. As well, the lamps, which are expensive, need changing every year.
Then there's the issue of ambient (naturally available) light. Russell Martyn, a branch manager at the home cinema product vendor AIM Digital Imaging (1800 008 899), says: "Ambient light is the biggest killer of home theatre projectors because they are, by nature, very low in brightness. Therefore they need to be used in the same environment as when at the cinema, having dark walls, dark curtains, low ambient light."
The cheap all-in-one
The cost of individually buying components, such as speakers in a mix-and-match spirit, mounts up. A home-theatre-in-a-box system is comparatively cheap: you can snap one up for as little as $200. But you may then feel stuck.
Build the system bit by bit, says Alex Leong, the boss of Livingstone Audio (www.living stoneaudio.com.au). If you buy an all-in-one system and you blow one of the speakers, it is very hard to get a replacement because they are all in a pack.
Another drawback with an off-the-shelf system is quality. Wallis says not all companies do audio well. This is particularly true of speakers: most theatre-in-a-box packages have second-rate plastic speakers that would never survive in the marketplace as a stand-alone product. The best speakers invariably come from speaker specialists.
Like Leong, Wallis rates putting your own system together as the better option by far.
DIY drawbacks
The main drawback with a customised approach is the cost. Also, the result of your labour may perform poorly due to incorrect or inferior cabling or, more commonly, incorrect menu set-ups. Buy from a specialist who knows which combinations work. Some combinations, which should function fine in theory, will fail. Don't just assume that the devices you already have scattered around your home will harmonise either.
Soundproofing
When you finally slump in front of your new theatre ready to be dazzled, the last thing you need is distraction from a laughing kookaburra or the screaming baby next door. Likewise, the neighbours will not want to hear gunfire booming out of your speakers. You may want to consider soundproofing supplied by a company such as Boral TecAssist (1800 811 222 or www.boral.com.au/cinemazone).
All together now
A universal remote costing about $300 should tie everything together, putting every element of your theatre at your fingertips. The convenience is great, but beware, if you have gone it alone, you may find that some of your devices refuse to respond to your remote.
Before you buy one, find out what brands and models it handles. Even if yours looks just the job, note that some hard-core techies struggle to program universal remotes. You might need help.
Of course, if you have taken the path of least resistance and bought an all-in-one system you should not need to wrestle.
You're all set.

Hi Alex
My testimonial for screen goo -
Recently I used the product "Screen Goo" in a recreated 1940's theatre set for the exhibition 'Admit One: Brisbane goes to the pictures' at the Museum of Brisbane. I found the product worked exceptionally well giving the projected images vibrancy and depth. I would personally recommend Screen Goo for home theatre purposes or as a cost effective alternative to buying a projection screen.

Testimonial from client in Sydney Australia: Eichmann Express Digital Coax cable
"Hi Alex,
Just wanted to let you know more of my thoughts on the Eichmann Express Digital Coax cable ... though if within 1 hour of recieving the first one, I place an order for another for my system so you will have an idea of how impressed I am.
I have tried a number of Digital Coax cables form DVD players and DVD/HDD Recorders to my flagship AMP (Yamaha RX-Z9) .... this is the first cable that gave an immediate impression of being completely neutral,
there was no sonic signature added to the sound, Music and DVD movies were presented just as they were meant to be.
Other thoughts on the Eichmann Express Digital Coax cable ;
Bass improved significantly...tightened up and did not colour the midrange
More detailed presentation
More natural sound
Overall, I recieved a 10% to 20% improvement in performance, for just over a $100per cable this is very significant as the gear in my system is fairly high-end or reference quality (Focal JMLab 1027 speakers, Pioneer 989avis DVD player,Yamaha RX-Z9 AMP).
Now, there is no way I would degrade my system my removing the Eichmann Express Digial coax cables!
Finally, thankyou for youre superb advice and service, it is a pleasure dealing with you.
Regards
John, Sydney"

Jodie Goldring and Sandra Soccol Visual Artists, Melbourne Victoria
November 2007
Dear Alex,
We would like to thank you for the support and assistance you generously provided us with our entry to The Yering Station Sculpture Award 2007. We approached you with a difficult task and you were able to advise and sponsor us to create our very successful artwork.
Our aim was to project a digital image onto a glass wall in the winery of Yering Station. We had to contend with a lot of ambient light entering from behind and in front of where we wished to position our screen
The Goo Systems Digital Grey Kit ended up being the most successful solution for our project. It performed well in very difficult environmental conditions. The Goo allowed us to integrate our artwork into the existing environment. The image was clearly visible without us having to remove all competing natural light.
To begin with we brought in professional signwriters to apply a 2m wide x 1.5 metre high sheet of film to the glass to protect it. We then applied the Goo with a roller, two base coats and two topcoats to the product directions. The final screen dried to an even, flat and consistent finish. It was relatively easy to apply even though we had limited experience with painting screens!
The curator of the exhibition was delighted that we were able to integrate our screen into the winery environment in a complimentary and non-invasive way.
We look forward to working with you again on future projects.

Gary's HDMI Matrix switching - Two HD Displays from 4 HDMI Source devices
The new KORDZ® HDS-42 twin output HDMI switcher is a rugged, high performance device which enables the parallel and simultaneous operation of two HDMI supporting HD display devices. For example, my client may want to display up to four different HDMI supporting sources to a LCD screen and a projector without having to unplug and redirect cables. With support up to 1080p true high definition, switching is easy and convenient with the use of the included IR remote control, or via the button on the unit's front panel. Input switching on the remote is by direct key selection, making programming the codes into a macro capable learning remote easy and reliable. The output stage is buffered and amplified for consistent TMDS performance.

Henk from Doncaster
In October of 2007 I had purchased a fantastic 50 inch LCD television and
once installed we were happy with the picture quality and size. However,
the sound that the tv produced was quite basic and realy was not in contrast
with the great picture. We decided to improve the quality of the sound as
well. I remembered that for a long time I had noticed a quality sound
system shop on Canterbury Road Blackburn Melbourne. I decided to drive to
the shop as I could not remember the name "LIVINGSTONE". I met up with the
sales person "Alex Leong" and he recommended that I purchase an Onkio
amplifier TX-SR705B and a sub-woofer Velodyne CHTR 12, which I bought. Alex
had looked after me very well with the price and even more importantly
installation of the sound equipment. It took him no more than 24 hours to
have it installed and guided me very well on how to operate the system. I
can honestly say that the service I received from Alex was excellent and if
I were to need any further equipment I would phone him without any
hesitation. The quality sound I receive from my sound system is realy
fantastic and anyone that has watched tv at my house has commented how good
it sounds. After having purchased the equipment from Alex I have checked
the prices and performance to other outlets and equipment and found to have
received the best price and also excellent reports on the equipment. Thank
you very much Alex for the excellent equipment and service that you have
provided me.

Testimonial from : Client brought Velodyne subwoofer SMS-1 one left only $HOT! SOLD!
Face it ? bass is tough to get right in most listening environments because of the relationship between your subwoofer and the room it?s placed in. Now you don?t have to worry about it. The SMS-1, featuring Velodyne?s revolutionary Digital Drive room correction software, provides all the tools you?ll need to adapt ANY subwoofer to the anomalies of your room. With all the features of Digital Drive, including full DSP control, an on-screen display and 8-band digital parametric equalizer, you can see your subwoofer and room's unique characteristics on your TV and adjust the sub's performance accordingly. Presets enable you to tailor the bass to your listening tastes and source material. The SMS-1 won?t turn your subwoofer into a Digital Drive sub, but it will get the best possible performance out of it. The SMS-1 comes in a slim, one unit high configuration.
Hi Alex,
The SMS-1 arrived in good shape and it seems to be doing the job well. Thanks again for your assistance with this and I'll certainly do
business with Livingstone Audio again in the future.
